Rules and Regulations


1. Attendance on the last working day and reopening day is compulsory. A penalty of Rs.300 per day will be levied for students who take leave on the above mentioned days. An extended holiday along with any vacation will not be condoned. Letters posted by parents from outstation expressing inability to be present due to non-availability of return tickets or any other reason shall not be entertained. In case any one absents himself, the name shall be struck off the rolls and the vacancy filled up with candidates on the waiting list. Also heavy penalties will be levied for students who violate the above instructions.

2. A pupil may avail leave only with prior permission except in unforeseen cases. In such an eventuality he has to ensure that the leave application reaches the office or the class teacher on the first day of absence. Students will not be permitted to enter the class without a proper leave letter. Parents are requested not to apply for leave for their wards along with the holidays already declared by the school or an extended holiday during weekends

4. Any pupil availing himself of sick leave shall be required to produce a medical certificate and a prescription signed by the doctor

5. Absence without a leave letter / intimation in the calendar and late coming shall be considered as a punishable offence. Habitual late comers shall not be allowed to attend school. Any instance of truancy will be severely dealt with.

6. In case of unauthorized absence of 5 or more consecutive working days or more, a penal fee of Rs. 500/- shall be levied. Absence for 10 days or more without permission could result in REMOVAL OF THE PUPIL'S NAME FROM THE SCHOOL ROLLS

7. Parents should ensure that their wards are present for all exams. Re exams will not be conducted under any circumstances at a later date.

8. Pupils requiring leave during any part of the day, whatever be the reason, will have to obtain the Principal's permission in person. Pupils will be permitted to go only with their parents.

9. Every pupil is required to have an attendance of not less than 85% of the working days in a school year, failing which the chances of promotion to the next class may be doubtful.

10. Physical Education is compulsory for all pupils up to Class XII. Pupils having less than 80% of attendance to PE classes, may not be considered for promotion.

11. Pupils shall be assigned suitable places in the class room by the class teachers.

12. Punctuality : Please ensure that your child is always regular as well as punctual in reaching school. Coming late to school will be taken serious note of. Beyond 3 late comings will lead to the child being sent back home. Students of classes I to V are advised to report to school only between 7.45 a.m and 8.00 a.m. The school authorities are not responsible for the students who reach the school before the specified time.

13. Lunch : Parents are requested to send packed lunch through their wards. The watchmen have been strictly instructed not to collect the lunch bags or any other material from any parents/their deputies for security reasons.

14. Students are not permitted to carry non-vegetarian food to school as per the school rules.

15. Dispersal : The school gates will be opened to parents and escorts of students of classes I to V at 2.00 p.m., and for students of Class VI to XII at 2.50 p.m. The school authorities are not responsible for the students who stay back on their own will after the school hours.

16. Dispersal of students of classes I to V going by Van / Auto / Car is through the PADMAVATHIAR ROAD ENTRANCE and for those escorted by Parents / Guardians, it is through the Main entrance. Parents / Escorts are requested not to use the entrance from the PADMAVATHIAR ROAD to collect their wards.

17. Kindly make arrangements to collect your children as soon as the classes get over everyday. Kindly send lunch and enough drinking water with your wards everyday. Please ensure that your children carry the Text books, Notebooks and other materials required for the class along with them WITHOUT FAIL.

18. Students must strictly adhere to the school norms for proper turn out, which include belt, clean shoes & socks, clean & short nails and hair trimmed in military style. Any default will lead to strict disciplinary action.

19. The pupils are expected to co-operate in keeping the premises of the school neat and tidy and therefore refrain from scribbling on the walls and scattering bits of paper. Any objectionable practices like damaging the furniture, dirtying the floor or spitting in corners will be viewed very seriously.

20. Perfect silence during the morning assembly and at all public functions shall be maintained. The classes shall be in the places assigned to them for the morning assembly immediately after the attendance is taken.

21. Pupils shall greet one another and their teachers with the traditional "Namaste", and their behaviour towards elders shall be marked with respect and obedience.

22. On a teacher entering the class-room the pupils shall rise and remain standing till they are advised to sit or till the teacher takes a seat. At the end of the class, when the teacher leaves, the pupils shall rise again, express gratitude and resume their seats quickly. The classes will commence and end with a brief silent prayer.

23. The class leaders and deputy leaders shall ever be ready to render smiling service with obedience inside the classroom, at every school function, inside and outside the premises

24. The School Captain, the Vice-Captain, the School Prefect, the House Captains and the House Vice-Captains will constitute the School Prefect Council that will help and advise the authorities on matters of discipline and administration

25. Pupils marching from one classroom to another shall do in order, keeping to the left always, and shall observe perfect silence on their way.

26. During lessons, or while engaged in other school work no pupil shall enter or leave the class without permission

27. Any pupil found loitering in the school premises shall be seriously dealt with. During working time, a listless or easygoing attitude and slovenly manner must be avoided.

28. During off-hours, whether before or after school hours, during the short break or during the long recess, pupils' behaviour will be subject to examination and correction.

29.(a) Periodical Progress Reports shall be sent to parents or guardians to appraise them of the pupil's regularity, conduct and work at school.
(b) Any pupil who does not return the progress report within two days duly signed by the parent or guardian shall not be allowed to attend class.
(c) Any pupil who tampers with the progress report or is found guilty of any other kind of malpractice in this connection is liable to face severe disciplinary action.
(d) Whenever a call goes to the parent from the school in connection with the child's work or conduct at school, he/she will kindly make it a point to respond to it in the interest of the child.
(e) Any parent wishing to communicate to the school, based on the progress report sent to him is requested to make a separate communication to the school. Parents are advised not to enter any remark in the report cand
(f) In addition to the Terminal progress reports, other reports about the pupil's work or conduct may be sent similar reports about the pupil's behaviour at home and activities may be called for from the elders, whenever necessary.

30. In case a student is found guilty of any malpractice in the examination, it will lead to cancellation of the relevant examination, suspension for two days from school and the same shall be reflected in the Report Card. Also in very serious cases, the candidate who is found guilty would be issued with the TC, at the discretion of the Principal.

32. The parents are requested to contact the Class/Subject teachers only through the Principal/Headmistress with prior appointment. The parents are requested to note the visiting hours given below, to discuss the progress, behaviour and other problems of their children : For Strict Adherence:

33. No student is permitted to bring any money to school unless a written note is sent by the teacher. Whenever money is sent, the parent should insist on an acknowledgement for the same from the teacher.

34. No pupil of the school shall be a member of any external organization or take part in activities not connected with the school without obtaining the permission of the Principal.

35. No student or group of students or members of students association / clubs are permitted to collect any funds in cash or cheque from any internal or external source. The parents are advised to warn their children against any collection. Any violation of this rule will be strictly dealt with.

36. With regard to conduct, pupils of the school shall always bear in mind the good name of the institution.

37. Parents are advised not to send their children for private tuition in any subject to coaching centres / teachers. The parents can seek the help of the Principal to enroll their child in the special classes being conducted in the school after or during the school hours.

38. It is also to be noted that as per the rules of the school our school teachers are not permitted to take private tuitions at home.

39. Students are not permitted to bring cell phones or other electronic gadgets to school as per Government Order and our school rules, and any violation in this regard will invoke strict disciplinary action against the student possessing the same. The gadget shall not be returned.

40. Application for Transfer Certificate must be handed over at the office by the parent in person, The application should not be sent through their representatives or the student and the application for T.C. should be signed by both the parents.

41. This School diary should be brought to school daily and entries regarding Leave record, Daily Work, Communication, Out pass record, and other details should be duly filled in as and when required.
